I carried you with me
and never wanted to see
the way it had to be

there was a glimmer of hope
for a very short while
but then I had to find a way to cope

you tried your best to stay
but it was time for you to go
and God sent you on your way

I think of you everyday
and wonder how it would be
if you were here with me today
