Poem I Like

I yearn only for a peace which smiles,
To be happy as I walk the miles.
Just simple strength to ease the load
While traveling down life's lonely road.
Mere hope and courage do I ask
To be the doer of my task.
I want to live a life that's free
From pain and its inequity.
To look beneath this wretched me
For I shall live and will be free.
