A faded photograph
burns an image in my mind
sweet dreams of yesterday
remind me of the time
memories.
of you and me
through the years
Slow train of yesterday
comes rolling through my home town
these dreams of you and me
I think they'll never simmer down
and I find
old visions never die
they just rush right back into my world
yesterday returns
I remember the good
I remember the bad
I remember the day you died
let the memories fade
let them fall off track
and in time
they all come back
Keepsakes and souvenirs
they paint an image
in my head
a scattered memory
I piece together
with the shreds
of you and me
through the years
then you rush right back into my world
and yesterday returns
and you
bring it all back home
like a wave flooding over me
