Smile my friend

Sitting there in the corner of the room
Quietly sipping your tea
Pretending not to be here at all
Hoping no one notices who's here.

Watching everything
Hearing everything
Pretending not to care
Heart of steel you want all to believe
Heart of gold in is for real.

Day by day you sit here
Watching as others hurry
Praying for a day with lots of good folk
So tomorrow you don't need to beg
