This doleful long day with no end in sight
Has caused me to submit to defeat
As I decend further into this blight
I regress and begin to retreat

Passed out with this needle in my arm,
Not caring about how it may harm.
Nothing I can do can hold back its rain,
Sweet nectar plunging into my vein.

As the rain falls down from up in the sky,
Splashing in puddles that lay on the ground.
With elated feelings I get so high,
As rain washes over me all around.

The child was weeping in her mothers arms
Amongst the chaos surrounding them
As the war created so much harm
With all the suffering and mayhem

The demons have come to take their claim
Invading my soul as they drive me insane
My integrity weakens as they draw near
Inducing me with their debilitating fear
...

I seek freedom from my prison,
Where I find myself locked away.
I look back in reflection,
At the seeds that spawned my dismay.

On the threshold of darkness,
Hell reached out for me
to engulf me into her grasp.
I stumble backwards cowardly,

Thoughts are spinning in my head,
With some words it must be fed.
Some phrases bring ineffable joy,
While others create a wicked ploy.

From birth until earth,
And somewhere in between,
You'll find you had a dream.
Did you accomplish this goal,

I look in the mirror and what do I see,
Unknown faces looking back at me.
With a deceitful look in their eyes,
They try to fill me with their lies.
