Many Faces Poem by Ken Barrett

Many Faces

I look in the mirror and what do I see,
Unknown faces looking back at me.
With a deceitful look in their eyes,
They try to fill me with their lies.
Persuading me to give into their intent,
I found it difficult not to consent.
Trying hard to hide these faces away,
They just didn't seem to want to obey.
I've even broken a mirror or two,
But the faces kept getting through.
Someday I might be able to flee,
Back to where there's only one I see.
