Love Poem: Don'T Get Too Close

Finger
and nose tips
and lips
examine the ragged planes
of my face

It's the morning after
and I'm scared
that I have given too much

I am surprised
to find you
so seriously
examining me

My eyes beg you
not to leave
but already I am pushing you
away

Spend the day
