Although was I only but nine, my soul was shook and a piece of it derailed

Twenty one years earlier, born into a home of a mere woman and a man
A beautiful well nourished soul
Throughout the years, no other soul could compare

Hey buddy,
I know this should grow old
But I miss you still.
I look for you in every being I meet
Yet I still cannot find you,
My heart aches whenever I try figure out why you left
You must have thought id be strong enough ey
But hey, u never really did prep me for that.
14 years later,
Im 14 years older now and I still cant figure out how to cope
When will it get better? ,
I constantly ask myself
They lied, they all lied
They lied when they said it gets better
And they lied when they said all we need is time.
This is too painful for me
Even more painful that I can't share with anyone
I graduated months ago and the pictures were just shot of you
I tried blending you in with old pictures of you
Cos I cannot get new ones,
Im so deeply hurt that u couldn't be here for that
I submitted a dissertation on a research I did about cancer,
The very thing that took you from me
Dedicated it to you,
With some hope that you'd be proud of me,
But I need to feel that and I don't know how to
At best I try to forget the pain altogether,
But something always triggers it
Yet, let not my tears put you in pain
I pray that you are at peace and in Glory,
I however don't know how to get that peace,
Im so sorry I still cry,
I love you and miss you buddy
And I hope you feel this
