A Letter To My 'father'

Hello 'father'. I probably shouldn't even call you that anymore. Do you remember me? The little girl you left when she was seven. The girl that was so sweet. The girl that looked up to you. The girl that thought you were her king. Well she's gone now thanks to you. I blame you for everything wrong with me. I blame you for me being so afraid of everything. Was I not good enough for you? Was I too needy? Was I not the dauther you wanted? Did you ever love me? I wish I was not part of you. I wish I was not named after you. I feel like it would have been better if I never met you. You were never a father to me. I blame you for me never feeling good enough for anyone. You are what's wrong with me. Did you ever care about me? You are the reason why I have trust issues. I'm kinda glad you are not around anymore. Is this who you wanted me to become? Someone who is afraid of everything. Someone who blames herself for everything. Well that's who I am now. But I guess you never cared enough to be around. It's ok I didn't need you anyway.
~ The dauther you never loved
