Kriss Bailey Poems

How I soar,
On broken wings of black and white,
Black, white and red,
Twisted by hatred,
...

You don’t have the right,
To stand there and dictate to us,
Your there to protect, to guide us,
Not steal, break or squash.
...

Jack be happy,
Jack be sad,
To spoil a life,
Anger and mad.
...

I am deceased.
We are to depart.
Life has expired.
A story has finished.
...

Can you feel it?
The flames licking up the walls,
Smoke, black as your heart rising,
Choking the very soul from your lungs.
...

And now it has happened
I am now the creature
Which I solely detest,
This is no work of plague
...

There love knows no boundary,
His knowledge knows their life
Their eyes full of passion,
His eyes full of destiny.
...

There was a man today,
Who I met,
Who on the eleven hour,
Stood and wept.

These Broken Wings

How I soar,
On broken wings of black and white,
Black, white and red,
Twisted by hatred,
Opened by love,
O how I float on broken wings.
The land scattered by green,
Splattered by red,
But my wings carry me
These broken wings of mine,

Let me reach,
Reach upon high,
Stretching for that sky,
Lusting for the clouded grave.
Carry me there,
O wings of black and white,
Carry me, carry me,
Higher and higher,
But only to let me fall,
The ground, my new grave.

Just dream, dream and they spread.
My wings, open with dreams.
But the world, not forgiving,
Grabbing, dragging, pulling, screaming,
Just holding me, clutching, cradling.
My wings now bound,
My world now closed,
Let me soar again,
O wings of blank and white,
Open again; let me fly one last time.
