Apathy-Unduly Noted

Casted with an oblivious trait
fed onto something sans copious hate
led into believing ritualistic fodder
given a choice one would rather smother

Running around within a biased loop
amiss without it, their faces would droop
So long had they feasted on the marvel
hardly would notice being trampled with gravel
grievances as shallow as a groom's demeanour
lacking belief, crouching like a insipid lemur

Deep into the abyss he couldn't feel a tremor
Mocking he was, counting his cards with a veiled murmur
lying cautiously with his precious pride intact
Wondering if it was going be the Final act

Tumbling they now were, ensuing the foretold gist
for those dwarfed structures had no ounce of fist
all those years surrounded by the serene mist..
seemed almost ridiculous hoping for a twist
gleefully lost a midst their own peculiar vices
they were now paying some handsome prices
The amount had to be paid with due interest
lets not get too ahead of ourselves though, said one man
Bounded within the bind, there was no reason for undue zest

Touted as it was their mercurial prerogative
Standing tall now was perhaps the order of the day
Bowing to the impending adversity had to be derogative
Flimsy fractures would only ruffle puppets of clay

Amused with a hint of rage at the preordained logic
the lurker couldn't help but term it as tragic
Such nonchalance in the face of an absurd calamity
Was it being apprehended as an act of magnanimity
Curious at the incredulous course of action at first
took a little time to realize their naivety's girth
Dust from the rubble wasn't enough to vanquish their thirst
Depth of his vanity versus theirs was a topic of mirth

The question of survival still seemed to loom large
Was either going to prevail or someone else needed to barge
Convictions held close to the heart do seldom alter
Are they worth the trouble if the world were to falter
The gap between the two had been molded as a gorge
If the bridge were to exist then who was to forge..
