Black Sheep

Black sheep

I look at the past, and see myself
In a distant land, my birthplace
standing among equals. Faces alike mine own.

Then look at the present, what is now
another land, opposite of what was before
A world, different, better, and worse in many ways.
I look to myself – a black sheep among white
unable to change, unable to cope
To the Shepard, it appears it’s all right
Below the epidermis, there is merciless oppression.

Though not black, I am a black sheep
