Lii Steinberga Poems

Oh, pain
Oh, pain!
Incredible pain!
In unbelief it falls
...

Perfect crowd for Loneliness
The beggar of your will
Who pardoned me for daring and gambling away
And standing oh, so still

Lii Steinberga Biography

Hello! My name is Linda, but my friends call me Li in short. I prefer my nickame, for I don't particularly enjoy my name. I suppose this information is not that important, yet I have told you this now haven't I. If you are a friend, call me Lii. I am from Latvia. I enjoy reading and writing poetry. I have not studied the art of writing, but I want to learn more about the beautiful art of writing and get better at it. I hope to hear a lot of constructive feedback. I write poems in Latvian and English. One of my goals is to publish a poetry book where there are poems side by side in two different languages - Latvian and English. I imagine people learning Latvian and/or English and see how the two languages differentiate. How the poem changes because of language. I don't know if this will be possible, yet I will try my best. I am a Christian. I love Jesus, because He has loved me. He is my best friend. My inspiration is Him, my life's troubles, joys and sorrows, and other people. I tend to write somber poems. My grandmother, who is the harshest critique, detests my depressive writing. And that is alright. For her sake my goal is to learn how to write more happy poems. Poems that can make you smile. Though I would find more happiness if one of my poems could make you cry. For it means that is a good poem. Although, if a poem makes you feel something, it is a good poem. I tend to find beauty in the somber things. I find simple things, that others pass by, very showstopping and worthy of a smile or a tear in my eye. Or better yet - a poem. I hope to learn more about poetry and I hope to hear from anyone who has the chance to read a poem of mine. That you for your time!)

Pain, Oh, Pain!

Oh, pain
Oh, pain!
Incredible pain!
In unbelief it falls
Down it falls where darkness meets
I don't remember that day when all started and when all ended
But memory and pain is false when with poison mingled
