La Wanda Parks Poems

What stage of my inner calm did you proclaim your presence
To invade my new beginnings - without endings?
Then avow unknown truths of another time and place
To journey forward-backward-jolting memories
...

When you see the sun inch slowly away
that will be me having one last look at your day.
When you see a star fall out of the skies
that will be a tear leaving my eyes.
...

Removed from the moment, into tranquility.
Placed inside the very air that I breathe.
Overcome by the quiet, the stillness.
Absorbed in silence - released of all duty
...

Leave me now as if the tallest wave
will seek to land on the farthest sand.
I will neither stand still - nor will I go.
I will be with you
...

Perished Thought

What stage of my inner calm did you proclaim your presence
To invade my new beginnings - without endings?
Then avow unknown truths of another time and place
To journey forward-backward-jolting memories
Then again escape - just beneath the surface
You hold as treasure - tiny little fragments
Distorting hidden answers into looming questions.
New images ever clear become mirages forever lost.
Time must forge my strength to slowly bring them back.
What turn of events must you hold - what secret?
Would you be stilled by darkness - if unlit your traveled path?
And if the door into my mind - you found closed - and locked?
And to heed the beckon of a former self - I retreat.
Would my confusion rest or become your next barrage of thought?
