Theres a book on the top shelf
I haven't read it in awhile
I saw a man read it yesterday
and something in it made him smile.

He proclaimed his love, though unrequited
And bared his tender covert passion, though
In vain held the wick, unignited
And prayed to set the fine taper aglow.

My spirit was bright, my heart full of glee
