These Stones

Against these stones
I've built a home,
Surely they will hide me!
For here I've found the slightest brook
And no one knows,
No one knows it's mine.

Because you see,
At the quietest hour,
Where the world curves,
There, yes there!

The terrifying light will burn
And the waters will glisten,
And it shall be known
I built my dwelling
On these stones,
But it will no longer matter.

Because just before they crush me,
And the brook consumes me,
Not a moment sooner,
I will have seen the sun!
