I love the work you boys do.
I have a sense of bonding through you.
You speak to me in verse,
and I try to reply.

I've been writing poetry for many years and have published a few. Only recently a book - see below. A retired teacher of French and linguistics, I find words fascinating and poems things of beauty and a wonderful way to study our culture. I've taught at the Universities of Wisconsin and Michigan and at Wesleyan University in CT. My interests are musical theater, church activities, fine dining, Americans With Disabilities and LGBTQ studies.)
Raising The Bar
candy and chloroform,
toes pointing,
pommels, rings, horses,
raising the bar.
philadelphia, seoul,
london. beijing,
rings on the fingers,
rings in the air.
on, dancer, dash,
prance, swing, flip,
lycra, finesse, pulses
pounding, breaking.
mixed messages so,
solo is best, low sweet
team spirit, bend
over applause.
chicken hatching from
his shell, locker room
drivel, innuendo,
transformative.
the last breakfast,
supper, cereal pride,
purple and periwinkle
surface front.
outsource soul,
benedictive heart,
father's hug,
world springboard.
out choosing.
