At the last you’re taken from the coil And the snowflakes crack my skin Thoughts of how we’ll lose you in the soil And you never lost your grin Sat outside the white hospital doors Where a preacher tells my sins Tells me how ill never be a man That wasn’t part of my plan I pick up a pen and to the tune of a love song I write him a letter on paper I found by the door what am I doing this for I flip up a coin it lands on the wrong side Not waving but drowning at the weight of a strong tide
