At Death She Mourned
At death she mourned a thousand stars, as though each had been a child of hers.
She mourned a man that had long since passed, a father that gave to her a love and zest for life that kept her strong in all her dyer hours.
A man that lifted her, that pushed her and was there to sweep up the broken tears of loss with humour and compassion.
And yet, she remembered he was a man who was broken and besieged by grief for all the things he'd lost. For all the betrayals and hardships. A man who preached life to her but could never find nor live it for himself.
What had happened to this lovely spirit, this shining light of life.
Life had happened to this broken man, with its loss and hurt and anger and grief.
This girl, throughout her life remembered the sadness in her fathers eyes, beyond the joy she saw the pain and vowed never to cause such sadness and sorrow.
At death she was parted by a thousand souls who sang with love for her.
At death she mourned a thousand stars, as though each had been a child of hers.
