Mourning You
I am burning
Summer turns
To winter
And my flame consumes
The long dark night
I am burning
I smoulder
Out in the rain
I tread curbs lightly
But my eyes speak lead
The heat is cold
Dark and red
Hot and old
When I burn out
When I am cinders
I will be the phoenix
Girls will admire
The pain I've endured
How I took it
How I used it
As my fuel
It oiled me
And as summer came
I slipped
Back into my sun dress
Back into the world
