When all grows quiet,
my mind wakes, and begins to gnaw on all of the day's gain.
the jury is my thoughts, the witness is my heart.
Nothing can hide, nothing can run.
All is questioned.
Each are sentenced, shackles provided to those who require such, and others are released.
And then there are others, who baffle the court to a point where no verdict can be reached.
The jury is lost, they look to the witness for help.
The Witness looks down, to afraid to take responsibility for the sentence of the most important defendant of all.
Confused, they look for a precedent, only to find a million or more, with all different answers.
“Perhaps the majority is right, in this case” is a sudden thought. It is quickly killed with the sharp sword of words that deny that the masses will ever know the truth.
The court is running out of options, the defendant unseen, unknown, makes the jury nervous, pulse is quickened, and breaths becomes heavy.
The jury has decided, they raise and present:
'Innocent until proven guilty, or just as likely guilty until proven innocent.'
The Judge, as well as the witness are confused. 'this is not clear! Guilty or not guilty? What is the answer? ' they plea.
'the answer will be unknown until the opportune moment allows the verdict to be reached by itself.'
The Judge stands, 'And what if the opportune moment is death? '
'Than i shall wait for death to find the answer.' the witness leaves the courtroom. The lights fade, and conscious is lost as the court is buried into a bed of blankets as they are lost in slumber.
