Hope

They were tall and they were dark
I could see them dance and prance
Looming in the far away yesterdays
The shadows leaving me weary and sad.

I hear the obvious question
Was it me or was it you or was it the dreadful now
how futile may it be
With the questions still haunting me

I run to evade them, fight to defeat them
Until I reach the place I want to be
Where I can finally see
The frail yet strong beam falling on me
I lie still, letting me be
Bathing in the joyful gleam.

Oh! how lovely is it to see
The tomorrows shining over the horizon
Piercing through the darkness
Is the shimmer of my ray of HOPE
