The Corner Of God's Eye

Once upon a time, very long ago, a single solitary star rose in the night sky.
It outshone all the others, made night into day.
It chased away all the dark shadows that life makes.
It shone bright and brilliant burning it's gases at a furious pace,
feeling eternal in it's brightness.
But eternity is not forever.
What was day and night soon became dawn and dusk.
What was dawn and dusk soon became fog and mist.
The bright star panicked at the tarnishing of its glitter.
It reached out for help but the other stars, not wanting
to be outdone once more, refused.
Considering it's options, the bright star gave up its exalted position in the
night sky and slowly sank below the horizon.
It reappeared in the day sky where it obtained a humble position
in the corner of God's eye.
Day after day, the bright star would take it's place among the faded and the dying.
But it hadn't given up.
Slowly it absorbed energy, painfully it learned how to parcel out that energy.
It learned how to give maximum brilliance with little output.
Finally a blink of the eye would catch a twinkle.
A direct stare caught a gleam.
Then one day when the star rose to take its place in the day sky
the sun denied it it's place.
The sun must have no competition.
And the star was sent back to the night.

Once upon a time a single, solitary star rose in the night sky.
It outshone all the others, made night into day.
It burned bright and brilliant feeling eternal in it's brightness.

Eternity is forever with experience.
