Lisbon Tawanda Chigwenjere (The Lord's Poet) is a young poet from Harare, Zimbabwe. He is currently pursuing an honors degree in Politics and Public Management at the Midlands State University in Gweru, Zimbabwe. Three of his poems, 'Days of My Youth', 'The Tongue of the Learned', and 'Fight, Soldier, Fight', have appeared in 'Enter the Gateway', a Christian poetry anthology published by TL Publishing Group, Florida. His poems have also appeared in newspapers such as The Sunday Mail and News Day, and in The Pulse (an official newsletter of the Midlands State University) . more »

Brothers, I Had A Dream!
Brothers, I had a dream last night,
I dreamt Africa was now full of light! !
Her poverty was a thing of the past,
And those who were first were now the last! !
Brothers, it was the most beautiful dream I ever had,
I heard what my ears have never heard,
A voice said, “The race is not to the swift”,
And I saw prosperity towards us shift,
I saw God raise us from the dust,
And Africa was no longer the last! !
Brothers, I dreamt we were beating our spears into pruning hooks,
We were reading and writing books,
We were rising at the fastest ...
