I walked a road, wandered it alone
But I walked that road
For miles and years I carried hate in my heart
the devil, my shadow, my soul companion
...

This boat carries me along
Through raging storms and angry waters we go on
I claim I have attempted to jump overboard
But this but merely carries me to shore
...

Don't go in there mother says
But I did anyway
Don't play with those mother says
But I played anyway
...

I Walked A Road

I walked a road, wandered it alone
But I walked that road
For miles and years I carried hate in my heart
the devil, my shadow, my soul companion
But I walked that road, aimless and alone I walked that road
I saw seasons change, the trees go bare
And with them I mourned, broken and alone searching for the sun
But still I walked that road searching for a home
I was consumed with hate but slowy as the seasons change is ebbed away
Like spring my heart brought change
I still walk this road, but no longer alone
I walk with you, with love in my heart
Together we make our way home
