There You Lay

There you lay,
You face as white as snow,
Your skin as cold as ice,
I didn't want you to go.

I tried to say goodbye,
But you said you'd make it through,
Except now I cry,
While looking down on you.

Your face is pale,
Your smile is gone,
Mum is crying,
You left before dawn.

Now it's all different,
Nothing is the same,
I feel guilty,
All the blame.

Now the sun is gone,
Everyone is sad,
It won the battle,
I wish I had never made you mad.

I feel it's all my fault,
It couldn't have been prevented
