Well, What's It Like To Become?

i'm like an insect trapped in amber, where space is eternal and forever, and my dreams are stretched and stretched and feel like they never end. as the moonlight terraces the tiles of my slated grey roof, and the wind howls with such ferocity i think it's hunting for my bones, i curl into the space between my ribs and hold out for tomorrow, because tomorrow there is promise, because tomorrow i will be happy, because tomorrow i will feel. but as i stare up my spinal cord and see the tally marks scratched into cartilage, i'm reminded of the days and days i've spent holed up hoping for a little bit of light in here, hoping for my tomorrow.

tonight i kneel into a dream where the vacant space is smeared with the colour of light, my heart overflows toward the centre of the universe, and i can feel the warmth of tomorrow on my tear stained cheeks, i scoop it with my hands and it feels like fallacy, it's to heavy, a ball aglow, a ball of lies, a ball two times to small to light up my idle rib cage.
