BEAUTIFUL PEOPLE

Fiji Island drenched with sun,
Barefoot children having fun.
Pearly whites, deep brown eyes,
Bula, Vinaka happy cries.
Palm trees sway in ocean breeze,
Endless beaches, turquoise seas.
Fishing boats rock to oceans tune,
Lazy island days of June.
The village sits at the valley's floor,
Iron sheeted houses, no locked doors.
A lady washes the families dress,
Sat at a tap, stone sink no stress.
And all around I look and see,
These beautiful people smiling back at me.
Never lose your Fiji spirit inside,
Your loma yalo, wear with pride.
For when we visit your island home,
We see beautiful people proud and strong.
Fiji Island drenched with sun,
Bare foot children having fun.
