You

Like a sheep missing from its flock I found myself lacking
Like a Sheppard searching for the missing sheep, I searched for what was lacking.
Day and night I searched but couldn’t find it.
At times I wondered….. Do I know what I really want?
Does what am looking for really exist?
Is it that I have been searching in the wrong places?
People said everything I needed was around me.
everything is at your disposal they added.
Some wished they had what they thought I could have.
None of the things around me gave inner peace or filled the void.
I wondered whether to carry on searching.
just when I was giving up the search, YOU came along.
I had never seen YOU before
Your smile made me feel comfortable, I felt like being around YOU longer
But our meeting was short lived, couldn’t ask YOU to stay on.
I met YOU once or even twice, but I feel like I’ve known YOU for a lifetime.
YOU inspired me to do things I never thought I would do.
YOU would be surprised if I told you
YOU are beautiful; YOU are young and seem to be full of drive and vision.
Every day I long to hear your voice, whether audible or written
Leave the imagination to me coz I know how to make the best of it
I hope this friendship is meant to last and become better.
I have felt the gap of lack closing, could YOU be what I have been searching for?
One thing is for sure,
I will always be happy that I found YOU.
