On The Road That Leads To Tomorrow
I walked along with a child today
On the road that leads to tomorrow.
I wasn't sure of the path ahead
For, like the child, I never had tread
the unknown. Was there danger and sorrow? I walked along with a child today,
He in faith with his hand in mine.
I looked for milestones along the way,
For bridges strong that the wind could not sway,
For a route marked good for all time. Should I open the door of my wisdom now.
And bid him take for his own
All neatly labeled and centuries old,
All proven successful there fold upon fold
