Mum

It's been a year already
Since I saw your loving face
I just hope that where you are now
Is a peaceful happy place

I thought it would get easier
As the days and months went by
In fact its getting harder
And all I do is cry

I miss the special moments
That we once used to share
The 7.30 phone call
Is gone coz your not here

Birthdays are not the same now
It's just another day
You made them 'extra special'
'My Lion King', you'd say

I think of of all the good times
We shared when you were here
And when I see white feathers
I know that you are near

I know that you'll still guide me
And keep me on that track
Oh what I wouldn't do right now
Just to have you back

I'm not much of a writer
I'm sure you will agree
But these last few words
Say it all
