Guns Of Glory

The pilots ready their planes,
They get ready for combat,
They don't care if they end up in flames,
Just quick and stealthy like a wombat,
They lift up landing gear,
On their way to a dog fight,
Explosions so loud, numbness occurs in the ears,
Through day and night,
The U.S. Air Force is on their way,
Ready to fight through another day!

One soldiers brother crashes on takeoff,
Another in the midst of a battle,
They just have to shake it off,
Guns shake and rattle,
One day it will all be over,
And another it will restart,
Each surviving soldiers luck, is like finding a four leafed clover,
All the pain hurts deep in the heart,
Till' the last man is standing,
The war will go on,

Only one side will win,
Only one team will survive,
All the boys get in,
Most from the country side,
Wanting to fight worldwide,
Most won't make it back alive,
Only the surviving ones have wisdom,
But also hope,
For the ones who don't,
Are stuck upon fears rope,
Death's teeth, slowly gaping wide,
When you loose all hope, you will surely fall inside.

~~ The life of a soldier, adventurous yet dangerous, the hard job, training around the clock, far from home, and here and there, a sob ~~ - A tribute to the U.S. Air Force; U.S. Army; U.S. Navy; U.S. Marines; and the Coast Guard
