Mark Strand is a poet nostalgic and homesick ruminating over the years, recollecting and reminiscing childhood days spent in the company of mother, father and others of the household felt in Canada and America and the same bonding lengthens it with the affection of his wife and daughter in which he basks tor recreate and repose in.

Keeping Things Whole

In a field
I am the absence
of field.
This is
always the case.
Wherever I am
I am what is missing.

When I walk
I part the air
and always
the air moves in
to fill the spaces
where my body's been.

We all have reasons
for moving.
I move
to keep things whole.

from the lies I tell myself,
that by being both here and beyond
I am becoming a horizon,
