Need To Do

I find no peace
in thinking of the things I need to do

But do I need to do them?
Or is it just years worth of piled obligation
What if I didn't do them?
Would that look like happiness?
Would it be different if I knew
I only had 10 days to live?
What would be my 'need to do' then?
Love my husband, adore my children
Eat chocolate and sit in a warm bath
Tell that woman what I really think
Tell that man to give away more money
Tell my God I'm coming...

But dinner is almost ready
And the oven is beeping
Children need a bath and husband
Is coming back from a business trip tonight

So the old needs return.
