True Love

For love to reach love's full potential
There may be stages experimental
There are no rules as yet defined
How one lover can be loved in another's mind
So how can one guarantee success
And avoid creating a painful mess?
There are no guarantees of which I know
Just standards each lover must not fall below

Love is patient love is kind
These words our forefathers left behind
But does this help lovers of today?
When most traditions have gone astray?
In a world of complicated situations
There are no books with illustrations
A lover must trust their intuition
And take care when making love decisions

A lover must be thoughtful all throughout
Of his lovers feelings or the lover will doubt
Their lover's intentions and worthiness
Lovers must not be left to guess
Lovers should be shown that love is true
Or lovers may seek love from lovers new
For once love is gone there will be no more
And lovers will be crying on lover's floors

Love is not formed of one grand gesture
But over many hours of loving pleasure
A lover must love with all their heart
Before true love can make a start
So love is not just in the lover's head
But in all love's actions and all words said
Loving is truly a doing word
But love must be spoken and love must be heard

And love forever endlessly

But true love forms down deep inside
The lover's heart is where lovers decide
Love is more than a task there's complication
Love is life engulfing dedication
Love for another when love is real
Fills the soul and lovers feel
An all consuming sense of together
And that's when true love is truly love forever
