La Maison Gray

An aging French manor,
half crumbling away, is covered with ivy
in the softest of gray.

Awaiting the owners to grace the main hall,
with laughter and joy from those who may call.

Ornate Chandeliers that glimmer so bright,
willingly offer their warm golden light.

Rich glossy woods and gleaming white casements,
refines quiet corners, and rooms with their statements.

A Mahogany clad library lined with old books,
are opened and read within comfy nooks.

The pantry and larder are stocked with the things,
that cater the feasts, and cheer that it brings.

It's stately trimmed gardens are verdant and lush,
bursting with blooms, the hare, and the thrush.

As twilight descends on this noble estate,
shadows play games with the curves of its gate.

Baby and Child are longing for sleep,
tired and gladden, their rooms gently keep.

Lights are dimmed, as the sounds die away,
inside the aged manor, our La Maison Gray.
