Broken Dreams

Broken Ankle
Looking around to see if anyone saw
Trying to stand up
Falling down in pain
Yelping to coach or for anyone to help me
Lying there in pain and sweat of a hard days practice
Wondering what was going on
Looking over my shoulder to see my teammates rushing towards me
They walked with me on their shoulders
I was immediately the center of attention
The trainer told me I broke my ankle and I'd be out for the season
I just sat there in sorrow
Knowing that my time and effort has been wasted
My dreams of having a good season was crushed
