The Shadows Lengthen,
And In the night grow stronger,
They Embody fear
...

Upon sad sands of midnights dreary light,

Fell shadows that like memories blight,
...

Around me,
Endless sea,
The cold biting wind,
Beckons only to rend,
...

4.

Shadows like flames consume,
As broken tears grow like a weavers loom,
A casket rest alone in lonely room,
Silently awaiting the tomb.
...

The beach and the foam, like lovers press,
Against each other in a moment most passionate,

And like a lovers kiss begin to end and part,
...

6.

Crumbling, dissolving falling away,

Stars, moon, blackened day,
...

The dirty earth will give way,
To the will of my heart today.
I know of the sin you have done,
But I know that you did not do this to hurt anyone.
...

Sad and heavy, upon me a great wait,

Blank and blurry, my eyes begin to haze,
...

Falling gentle, Floating just out of reach,
The cold air outside,
Goes inside me,
The smell of the salt,
...

The rose is beauty but no one notices the leafs,
Surrounded by thorns, unable to breathe,
Their colors a dark emerald green,
Are beautiful once seen.
...

My heart is lonely,
Lost in my memories empty grasp,
Holding together my still breathing lungs,
As if they were locked tight together in a clasp,
...

I used to think heaven was as a sea,
Endless effortless and alone,
But now I see what heaven could be,
A small place I call home.
...

Words exhale rhythm and rhyme,
Tasting of air filled with brine,
That once carried notes from windblown chimes,
After falling from the cloudless clime.
...

In eyes of strangers walking by
I find my reflection and wonder why,
That it is by itself, alone,
That it appears like skin stretched over bone,
...

She hath a name no man forgets,
And in her splendor the word resets,
Songs fall short, poets fail to describe,
The shade of sky and amber fire of her eye,
...

The muse has gone,
Ever from my sight,
In my years of loss,
I thought I would grasp,
...

The smoke I exhale drifts by,
Under the blue sky,
And I like smoke fade away.
...

Purpose and prose elude me,
My words circle incredulously,
Leaving me lost where I once began,
Awaiting a muse with a guiding hand.
...

19.

Across a room,
Figures dance,
Entranced,
...

The very will of the tide is to escape,

To crash,
...

The Best Poem Of Matthew Moser

Shadows (Haiku)

The Shadows Lengthen,
And In the night grow stronger,
They Embody fear

But has the shadow
Ever really gone? They hide,
For the night they long,

Night, is the shadows
Best friend, by destroying light,
At all days last rays.
