This is a poem by my dad. It is really old, but his stuff comes from the heart and he never writes it down! So I am doing this for him to get a little recognition. Tell me what ya think!

Epitaph Of A Foolish Man

This is a poem by my dad. It is really old, but his stuff comes from the heart and he never writes it down! So I am doing this for him to get a little recognition. Tell me what ya think!

Epitaph of a Foolish Man

When I was just a lad of 13, my so called friends turned me on to tar and nicotine.
I gagged, I choked, I knew that first cigarette was trying to tell me, I’d live to regret the day I started to smoke.
Like the fool that I am I wouldn’t listen to my mom and dad.
Time and time again I can hear their words of wisdom, “Son give up those cancer sticks think about all the life you have yet to live, think about all the happiness you have yet to have; consider the love of your mom and dad! ”
I just wouldn’t listen to them! At age 33, lung cancer took control of my soul, pain and agony possessed me.
Today, for the whole world to see, my epitaph now reads, “Here lies a foolish man who let cigarettes bring his life to an end.”
I left behind a wonderful wife, five beautiful kids, a loving mom, dad, and all the happiness that I had.
Take heed and listen to what I’ve said.
Today, for the whole world to see, my epitaph now reads, “Here lies a foolish man who let cigarettes bring his life to an end. Amen and Amen.”
