Maxwell Holland Biography

My name is Maxwell, but I prefer Max. I don't look at myself as a poet. I look at everything else on this site and wonder how I could possibly have the guts to post my completely inferior works along with these great writers. All I can say is that I'm in love with another, and I don't know how to tell her. She showed me this website and I figured I would post some of the things I've already written about her. These are things I wish I could tell her, but I can't because I fail terribly at doing so, and I hate that about myself. That's all.)

It's You.

WRITTEN IN JULY 2011

I've lived my life,
Thinking that each one I've been with would be 'the one.'
Never would I have thought
It would be you.

My days on this earth have passed by slowly,
But they've been filled with comings and goings.
I never thought the one to stay
Would be you.

That day you reappeared in my life after so long,
I immediately fell for you.
But it was too early, I never thought that it could happen.
That it would be you.

But then there was a detour,
Someone that seemed to take me from you.
If there were any thoughts, now there were none
About it being you.

The detour ended and I felt lost,
Broken again after another dropped me.
But the one to cheer me up that day,
Was you.

Soon after that, I realized that I had lost someone
Who cared about me, wanted to see me smile.
Someone who thinks my smile is amazing.
That someone is you.

I fell hard, I fell fast. My thoughts began to revolve around your name.
It was like nothing I had ever felt before.
I began to think, maybe, just maybe,
It could be you.

I took a chance and gave it my all, and I became your boyfriend.
You seemed to agree, and you became my girlfriend.
I liked you so much, and I found myself hoping
That it could be you.

The days seemed to crash together as I fell harder.
Every other thought was about you in some way, somehow.
I began to feel more sure,
That it was you.

Nowadays, I'm never sad.
Never broken.
Because there's someone always there to pick me up when I fall.
It's you.

Nowadays, my days go fast.
I'm thankful to wake up every day,
Knowing I have someone to wake up to.
It's you.

The definition of beauty can be found in a dictionary,
Now that I've covered the text with a picture.
A picture of a girl with beautiful brown eyes, long hair, and the most amazing smile anyone has ever laid eyes on.
It's you.

There's only one girl that I think about when I think about my future.
There's only one girl that I think about when I think about the reason of my happiness.
No longer do I think 'It could be you.'
It is you.
