A Knights Beat
I shield myself from the world,
using hands of transparent make,
to act as a veil to cover this face,
of frozen life behind an ebon bliss.
Now only these cyan shards are free,
to view what others do not want to see.
I shelter myself from the world,
taking fragile steps across a sandy sea,
as winds like fire threaten to burn,
the living flesh free from my body,
leaving me for these vultures to pick.
I bend myself from the world,
as the sun sinks down a horizon of mist,
becoming a shadow, a solitary assassin,
to a place that knows ...
