I could be sitting in the rain,
Or in terrible pain,
And I'd still think about you.
...
If I could turn back time,
I'd go back to our first kiss
When your lips touched mine
I was in total bliss.
...
You're three years old, sittin' on grandpa's lap,
The rain is falling from the skies.
He's humming a song so you'll take a nap.
Slowly you close your eyes.
...
I'm a hard headed woman,
With too much fight
I'm sorry
I don't do what I'm told
...
They say that love is a powerful thing,
It can make any old heart sing.
It's strong enough to make me love you,
Even though I can't be with you.
...
You called it quits and left me,
So I bit my tongue and stepped aside quietly.
It hurt like you wouldn't believe,
But I know you had to leave.
...
I've been broken, beaten, and mistreated.
And yet, I keep entering the ring.
The heartache and pain I've felt had been repeated,
But love is a beautiful thing.
...
It is a small, metalic thing
But it is my security blanket.
You wouldn't think that this ring,
Would tear me up since I've lost it.
...
V: It's cold and lonely now a days,
You hurt me in unspeakable ways.
It felt like a million razor blades.
...
You and I have known each other for years,
In that time, you've seen me in tears,
Smiling, and happy as can be,
But then cold, moping about miserably.
...
When I was a little girl,
I was my grandfather's world.
He used to call me his angel.
...
I always do this to myself,
Cause so much pain.
I need to take you off my shelf,
What is there to gain?
...
To cure a cold, you get lots of rest.
To cure the hiccups, hold your breath.
To cure a broken heart, you eat ice cream.
An apple a day keeps the doctor away,
...
Why do you want me now?
Now that I'm happy.
I don't understand how
You could still love me.
...
There are so many words that I could write,
And so many things that I could do.
Instead of killing myself over it day and night,
I'll just love you.
...
I have fallen madly in love with you these last four months,
It’s a feeling that won’t be easy to shake.
But this distance that stands between us
Can’t help but make my heart ache.
...
It was in that moment that I finally felt it,
I realized that you're not going anywhere.
After that moment, my mind allowed me to forget
There's no doubt in my mind that we're the perfect pair.
...
This war that has started is because of the past,
For which I was not a part of.
And I know that this hatred will last,
But why hurt me because of it?
...
It tore me apart limb from limb,
And you just had your fun,
But we were apart.
...
My body stiff, my mind blank,
What has happened to me?
There's only myself to thank,
There's no choice but to leave.

Growing up in a normal home, Melody was always the 'oddball'. She picked up on her writing skills early on, in her fourth grade year of school. She has written four books, which she is now currently modifying. She is also working on a fifth book. She has written poem upon poem, however, those poems were all gifts for people. She got into songwriting about two years ago, around the time of her now ex boyfriend's birthday. She is a very talented singer, writer, dancer, and flag twirler. She just hopes that her talents will someday be noticed.)
Keep You On My Mind
I could be sitting in the rain,
Or in terrible pain,
And I'd still think about you.
Dripping with sweat,
With my clothes all wet,
My mind is still on you.
Marching up and down a field,
My sunburn starting to peal.
And there you are in my head again.
I, who has luck with guys,
Can't seem to conquer the butterflies,
I'm head over heels.
It's not like I can just tell you,
I'm afraid of being rejected by you.
But I can't hold it in.
You make me smile when I'm down,
With you, It's impossible to frown.
I can't help myself.
One day I'll tell you,
And with luck, get to hold you.
I keep praying for that day.
So until then, I'll admire from afar.
And talk to you as we are,
And just keep you on my mind.
