Could They

If only if only the caged bird could sing
then maybe it too could fly
lift its head and spread a wing
and escape away into the sky.
If only if only the sun could rise
and break the grasp of the night
finally revealing the truth in the lies
and leading by way of the Light.
If only if only the lone star could cry
in pain by the light of the moon
lets tears if heaven rain down with a sigh
only to be away soon.
If only if only the kept could be free
and watch the walls crumble for you and for me.
