Today in Rivershank I lost my cool.
Compared to those brutal and eager men,
my fate should have been bright; at least a bit,

She Did Not Smile

When he put on the ring
onto her graceful finger,
she did not smile.

When he said word for word
the vows and holy terms,
she did not smile.

When he sat at her bed
to force his ways at night,
she did not smile.

But when in thoughts and pain
she left and was alone,
in distance rose a light,
that was her only child.

Beyond the harm and ache,
there was some little hope,
and one time they should go,
together as they were,
and leave to stay away
forever in the night.
