U, Ran 2 Me
I Held U, With Blissful Affection, On That Cold December Day We Made A Powerful Connection. I Never Fully Understood It Until You Were Three When U Fell Down Crying And U Ran To Me, Eye’s Full Of Tears Showing Me Were It Hurt, Mommy Make It Go Away. And So I Did bandaging U up and Giving U Lot’s Of Kisses I Sent You Back out 2 Play. And As U Ran Away I Knew That I Would Have 2 Watch You Grow, And One Day Let U Go This Precious Gift From God Not Mine 2 Own You Were Just On Loan. U Ran 2 Me When U Were Eight After Winning First Place Exclaiming Over Your Trophy With A Huge Smile On Your Face, I Wore The Same Grin, More Proud Of U Than I’d Ever Been U Talked Non-Stop Of All Your Dreams, Goals And Aspirations Your Little Sister Tried Not 2 Show Her Exasperation For You Wanted 2 Do Everything, Little Did I Know It Was But A Dream. At Thirteen U Ran 2 Me Collapsing In My Arms, How Could This Happen! I Tried To Shield You From All Harm. And As You Closed Your Eyes I Watched My Loan Drift Away, My Thirteen Year Old Son Died That Day.
