My mother wrote this poem for me, and she has given me permission to post it on this site.

You came along with such a suprise,
and how I prayed you'd have my eyes.
For nine long months lived fear in me,
'could I become what mothers should be? '
On the night you arrived such
relief filled my soul,
I knew right then and there your
life was your's to controll.
With your first breath of life,
and your cry filled the room,
I knew 18 years would come all to soon.
My dreams of you are of a cute little girl,
with a thick mass of hair, all red little curls.
when I look at you now, I wish
you could be, mommys tiny little princess,
who still really needs me.

Mikaila, just know, that Im so
very proud,
of the woman you've become
and how you stand out in the crowd.
you are compassinate to all, large and small.
you put others before you, not
letting them fall.
you give hope and encouragement
to all who pass your way
Even when your day was bad you'd
have good things to say.
youre exactly th eperson I wish
I could be, So strong in yourself
your dreams become your reality.

I could write on for ever,
of your personality traits.
but you'll soon be home frome school
and I sit here and wait.

Well my point of writing to you
is to tell you to never be sad.
that still see you as a child.
not just mebut your Dad.

We're affraid you'll grow up
and soon want to leave, become
a woman of the world,
and see all there is to see.

Dont you ever forget you'll always
be my little girl,
wiht your thick mass of hair,
and your little red curls.
No matter how old or tall,
you always will be,
mommys little Princess
for eternity.
