Mogare Nyamoko Poems

Say we swam in the deepest ocean
And we came out of it dry.
What about the smoke we caught with our bare hands?
Show it to the multitude by the shore..
...

Her rhythms match
She is stuck holding the pen
Writing lines and erasing them
Like a whirlwind her words
...

The metal I bought,
Express it sent me home
Where my ancestors lies low,
It was smitten into what they called car
...

I wil take time to build my grave, a place I shall stay for long if I will be alive tomorrow
But if I die today remember to plant more flowers
Especially roses of all kinds.
I loved the pink with it's aroma,
...

And Friday night cometh
When we would sit at the table
With the strangers who claims they bore us.
...

A day memorable it was,
So fine with the clouds spreading like wings on the sky
And the coldness of it's spreading felt.
Ooh yesterday, where did you go?
...

Before we leave the ground,
And on it's belly we enter,
Legacy is all we seek,
A good name but not well remembered,
...

One of the sunnless afternoon,
The crowd offers a sanctified sacrifice.
Seen unjustly gaining without vain
From a client not aware.
...

Tears have dried
Like a river in drought.
A bye bye I couldn't wave;
A bye bye I couldn't say
...

Now brightly it shines
Like the morning sun
But this heart, yesterday was painted
To conceal it's darkest parts.

A moment once I was,
A survivor in the world of war.
Fought endlessly nakedly without aid.
A victor I wanted to be.
...

Among the mornings
When up my eyes would crack open
And my wish to continue dreaming her ambushed,
Weak legs afraid to step down
...

I fall to every temptation,
Not because I want to
Not because am too weak
But because I don't want to prove man
...

The city rots,
The aroma of refuse shoots the nose
But each individual walking on the street,
Clean he, she claim to be.
...

The sun has set again,
The moon is hidden
And the darkness rages fiercely
As tears drops like waterfalls,
...

The thorns harmless I thought,
The sweet aroma alluring
And quickly my hands plucked
The desert rose.
...

As I passed through streets,
Streets of Angels prosecuting,
Men salivated for my young body,
A body with erect mountains
...

Flames of floods

The sky has darkened again like black smoke hanging,
Thunders bellows as if in competition for a prize unseen,
...

He walks down the streets chest thumbing
Of how free he is
But he is more of a prisoner,
At least a prisoner.
...

Received is your basket of gratitude,
In solitude he lies now asleep
Till the last trumpet shall sound.
Alive left with baskets full of different fruits,

Me And Her.

Say we swam in the deepest ocean
And we came out of it dry.
What about the smoke we caught with our bare hands?
Show it to the multitude by the shore..
For so long they have waited for us.
.
Again we shall wander through dark forests,
For I want to be lost with you
In a place where the wind shall not whisper to you
About the memories I lost yesterday.

Then we shall climb to the tallest mountain
And from the top we shall proclaim
The love we owe each other
Just before you tore my heart into pieces,
Never to love again.
We shall become earth and sky
Only connected by the rain of my tears.
