On Chennai rain
Untimed rain left life into a maroon
Cold waves usher the sudden climatic condition
Sun's visibility remain an illusion
Unexpected changes happened so sudden.
Fingers move towards switchboard to get it on
But no electricity leads to further irritation
Stuck inside home with and meager rations
Water, water everywhere still lips remain dry as a bone.
Whatsapp, facebook is no longer my passion
Status update remain a hallucination
Mobile battery shrinks off counter my pulsation
The predicament of modern amenity, I discern

Flooded city and its worsened condition
Broken homes and empty belly's yearn
Tomorrow will be fair, they move with aspiration
Can we guarantee never will it happen again? .
