Let's Pretend

Let's pretend
Let's pretend I didn't write this.
Let's pretend I don't really mind being a part of the masses who merely exist with no purpose cause life has shown me that people are divided into classes and if your grade ain't A then you're better off catching a Zee. Sleep.
Let's pretend I'm no different from a young librarian, curious enough to try to find himself from the books he sorts out everyday for the masters he serves while trying to make a decent living. Riveting.
Let's pretend I threw a rock into a river so I could 'sea' if it sinks deeper than your deepest feelings, but it floats on top like it was held up by an external force claiming to be 'Change', the usual retort. Change? Change him, change her, change it, Change them. Pause.
We don't want to change, we're nothing but social renegades climbing up a social tree we never wanted to be in-in the first place.
They speak to us with big words, so they confuse our minds into a submissive yes. Claiming we're apes and they're Gods, words are their thrones.
They speak in a certain way that makes you feel dumber than, and their words aren't nothing but random bullshit claiming to be deep so you can be known as 'that other man'. Reflect.
See a wise man once told me.. that just because no one can understand how you speak, don't necessarily mean that what you're saying is deep. Wake up.
So we hush our mouths and play along for now as we wait for the hell to rise and cowardice to end...
In the mean time we'll March on whispering to ourselves 'Let's pretend'.
So let's pretend you understand what exactly I am trying to say, or maybe you're better off reading this backwards.
