Rosie

As I walk these dirt tracks
I think of the those who've walked
My ancestors, the warriors
Children running with glee.

As this crosses to through my mind
I think of little Rosie Grace
My little, gorgeous, darling child
And the terrible curse put upon our race.

The tyre tracks are still quite obvious
From when my darling Rosie was taken
These two evil men took her from my arms
And the left me standing there, shaking.

I walk this empty wilderness
And think of my little girl
I want to cuddle her close to me
And run my fingers through her curls.

I'm afraid this isn't possible
‘Cos she sits alone in a shed
Crying tears of pain and loss
While kicking blankets off her bed.

I dream of the special day
When Rosie Grace comes home
That very, very special day
When I'm no longer alone.

I'm afraid that's only dream
I hold it in my heart
On the outside I look fine
But inside my heart's breaking apart.

I miss her big, gorgeous smile
Upon her little face
Oh, why did she have to be born
Into this cursed race?

My heart is slowly drained of hope
Of seeing Rosie again
What if she never comes back?
What would I do then?

They say this is for the best
But I don't care what they say
That doesn't mean I'll see her again
Or that she'll be the same.

At that thought my face burns hot
And tears ran down my face
How did they find her?
How did they find this place?

I am too tired to continue
So I must rest here
Until my darling girl comes home
This will be my final cheer.
